About the Author
Hi! My name is Bridget and I am a reference and instruction librarian at an academic institution in upstate New York. My research interests include: social media and technology-based collaboration; information seeking behaviors; outreach services and user experience. I'm fascinated with how undergraduate students find information and I am always trying to find ways to make the research process easier and the right tools more accessible for them.

Outside of librarianship, I enjoy photography, baking, bicycling, walking, reading the current fitness and nutrition literature, collecting etiquette and housekeeping books, and spending time with friends and family. I've recently indulged in the art of crochet, so you might even find me at the local yarn shop these days.

About Beyond the Reference Desk
This site serves as a place where I can talk about libraries, learning experiences as a new librarian, and interesting tools that I come across on the Internet. I'll also occasionally write about things I find of personal interest or in regards to life in general. (After all, BtRD has no rules!)
